Ready? Set! GO!

SYC has teamed up with the Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Children’s Foundation (GGSCF) from Toronto for our latest project. The GGSCF is a children’s group dedicated to doing seva and helping those in need in their community, across Canada and around the world. To celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, a team of kids signed up to run across Canada with the goal of raising $110,000 for health care needs. $10,000 will be donated to the children’s hospital in each province, and an extra $10,000 will be given to a health centre in Liberia.

The kids started running in St. Johns, Newfoundland on July 1st and are expected to finish in Vancouver, British Colombia on August 30th. SYC will have a chance to show their support and contribute to this cause on August 19th at Prairie Winds Park when the kids arrive in Calgary. SYC kids will be running 2.5km in Prairie Winds Park and all the donations we collect will be added to the GGSCF goal of $10,000 for the Guru Nanak Dev Ji Vision Clinic at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. A ceremony will be held at Prairie Winds Park in which all the donations will be given to a representative from the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

SYC wants all of you to come cheer on and support our runners. Come out for a chance to celebrate a great cause with the greater Sikh youth community across Canada and for a chance to enjoy the sun, good food and great company! See you on August 19th at 4pm at Prairie Winds Park!
