• Raina Foundation? Build Homes in India
• Need committee of 6-8 for Fund raising
• Goal $10,000
• Suggestions by others: Ludhiana -> building hospital, Orphanage?
• Suggestions to raise money: Change for Change, Bake Sales, Put change in the Stor, Put up stand in Gurdwara, Countdown tool
• Suggestions for non-profit organizations/charity: sikhgiving.com, Habitat for Humanity, makepovertyhistory.ca
• Based in California, have contacts already -> sikhgiving.com
• Action Items:
  • Harsimran to Register SYC as a non-profit organization
  • Harsimran will ask his sister get back to Simran
  • Jane to talk to her professor and get back to Simran
  • Anuraj to contact Meeta
  • Simran to contact Kulvir

  • Word of mouth, Jagmeet to call a meeting for interested people within next 2 weeks – August 26th (University) , Jagmeet to book it

  • Tutoring Program (elementary -> high school)
  • Talk to high schools
  • Resume building
  • Mention at U of C 101
  • Session at high schools when all University’s attend / Career Fair
  • Ask High School students to mentor Junior high
  • Going to schools
  • Mention at Gurdwara
  • Main obstacles: To get the word out to High School kids still a HUGE disconnect (WORD OF MOUTH)

  • Sign up/introduction at Soccer/BBall tournament

  • Email out to your personal friends / families
• Anyone can welcome to walk -> Eau Claire Market
• Can donate on your own (register as a member of the team online), or can give the money to Sandeep
• On website put thing on how much we are raising
